Turkey's BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation is in talks with the Iranan energy officials to increase gas imports from the Islamic republic, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Wednesday.
The two sides have agreed to open new routes, including Sarv and Razi border points, as new paths to supply Iran's natural gas to Turkey, the report said.
Presently, Iran exports 30 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas to Turkey on daily basis.
In 1996, Iran signed a 25-year contract with Turkey to export 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas annually by pumping 30 mcm gas per day.
