Alexandria security directorate, in coordination with archaeological officials in the governorate, resumed campaigns to remove encroachments on archaeological buildings and sites in the Mediterranean city.
This remark was made by Head of the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities in Alexandria Mohamed Metwaly.
Metwaly said that the campaigns will be resumed in Alexandria and the North Coast at the beginning of September.
He further underlined that Alexandria came in the first position pertaining to removing violations, that date back to 15 years ago, from it.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Sector Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif gave directives during his last visit to remove all encroachments on archaeological sites in the Mediterranean governorate.
