With the inaugural Abu Dhabi Aerospace and Aviation Week, ADAAW, set to be a milestone national event, gathering six aviation-focussed leisure, industrial and commercial activities together in March 2016, and being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, organisers of the event are keen to include even more participants from the emirate.
Billed as the largest event of its kind in the world, ADAAW will see six trade, defence, entertainment, and sports events held across the emirate from March 6th to 12th, 2016, and will reinforce Abu Dhabi's status as a leading global destination for exhibitions and events.
The core events will be held in various locations, and include the second Unmanned System Exhibition, UMEX Abu Dhabi, the first Simulation Conference and Exhibition, the third Global Aerospace Summit, and fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi Air Expo, as well as the first edition of the Middle East Aviation Career Exhibition and Conference and the eighth Red Bull Air Race.
To enhance the event still further, organisers are now keen to attract more institutions and clubs, from both the private and public sector, who would like to be involved in this major international event.
"We are encouraging any entity that would like to be involved to come forward with their ideas and suggestions for their involvement in ADAAW," said Faisal Al Sheikh, Director of Events Bureau, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, one of the organisers of the event. "The sort of activities we will consider to add to the week will have to have a strong touristic, cultural, social or economic basis and be compatible with the event's vision.
"We want these additional activities and proposals to help contribute to ADAAW's global success and to reinforce Abu Dhabi's credentials in the global aviation and tourism industry. In return, the event will provide stakeholders with many opportunities that will gain international media, institutional, official and public attention. Participating in the event will ensure strong economic, social and touristic value for all both locally and globally."
The Red Bull Air Race is the world's fastest motorsport event, and the 2016 event in the emirate, under the ADAAW umbrella, will once again represent the first race of the new season. It is expected to bring huge crowds to Abu Dhabi's Corniche as the best pilots in the world compete for high-octane glory.
The event is organised by a number of leading Abu Dhabi-based entities including TCA Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, Mubadala Development Company, Abu Dhabi Airports, and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and is being sponsored by Etihad Airways, the UAE's national airline.
