The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, recently announced that it will host a series of three Postal Stamp Design workshops for children aged 5-15 years. The workshops will be held at the Etihad Museum, which opened its doors to the public in the first week of January, 2017.
The authority organised the first three-hour workshop on February 4th with two further workshops to be held on February 15th and March 11th. The workshops will provide children and their families with an opportunity to use and explore colours, designs and drawings upon various stamps. Here, they will gain understanding about the methods and tools used in stamp design, the different ways to use colours, and how to apply these insights in producing their very own stamp designs.
Abdulla bin Massam Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum, said, "We are pleased to announce our first workshop for families and their children, that teaches participants a number of aspects related to stamp design, its history and importance. Participants can produce their very own works of art and share them with friends and family, inspiring them to embrace a stamp collecting hobby."
These workshops will be held on the side-lines of the authority’s exhibition dedicated to the Emirate’s postal history, ‘Emirates to the World: Postal History from 1909 to Unification’, which runs until April 8th.
