Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has launched ‘Music from Around the World in Dubai’, a happiness initiative that centres on a collection of musical performances from different cultures across the globe.
In addition to fulfilling its mandate to spread happiness among all citizens, visitors and residents of Dubai, the Authority also sought to organise creative shows involving young people and celebrities who have influenced the city with their arts. The performances took place in different parts of the city to allow the largest number of viewers to witness them.
Moza Suwaidan, Director of Projects and Events at Dubai Culture, commented, "We cordially invited everyone to participate and enjoy this unique initiative, which primarily aimed to spread happiness and positivity among various segments of society through all kinds of music, which is a language of unity among people."
The new initiative highlights Dubai Culture’s endeavour to make happiness one of the cornerstones of its daily work. In addition to promoting a culture of happiness and positivity through its various initiatives and activities, and inspiring its employees to enhance their efforts in the arts and culture sectors by launching new events and projects, the Authority is also furthering the vision of the leadership to make Dubai a city of happy, creative and empowered individuals.
Suwaidan added, "Our new initiative has undoubtedly matched the wishes of members of the public from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. As we at Dubai Culture take responsibility for spreading the UAE's culture and arts, and for increasing knowledge about them among residents and visitors, we have chosen Port Rashid to be one of the important sites for the activation of this initiative."
Port Rashid served as an ideal backdrop for the ‘Melodies of Happiness’ initiative, particularly because at 8 a.m. on 2nd November it became the docking location for an AIDA ship, which is one of the largest passenger cruisers in the world and brought over six thousand international travellers to Dubai.
