In Ireland, the Egyptian embassy issued a press release highlighting the importance of the project to Egypt and to the international trade movement.
Egypt's Ambassador to Ireland Soha Gendi took part in celebrations held by the Egyptian community at the Dublin's main square.
In Ethiopia, Egyptian Ambassador Mohammed Idris had an interview with the Ethiopian state TV, in which he stressed that the project is Egypt's gift to the world.
In Beijing, the Egyptian embassy held a press conference in the presence of representatives of Chinese media outlets, addressing Egypt's new mega project. The embassy has also organized a ceremony to celebrate the inauguration of the new canal.
The Egyptian embassy in Berlin held a reception to mark the inauguration of the New Suez Canal. The celebration was attended by a number of German officials and foreign reporters.
In Lebanon, the Egyptian embassy held a ceremony attended by representatives of Lebanese political factions. The Egyptian ambassador delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated Thursday the New Suez Canal in a great celebration attended by world leaders.
The new 72-kilometer waterway, dug in less than a year at a cost of 60 billion pounds, runs part of the way alongside the existing canal connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
The legendary project was financed by investment certificates sold to Egyptians.
