The Egyptian Embassy in Vienna took part in a cultural celebration on the One Belt One Road (Silk Road).
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday the celebration was co-organized by the embassies of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The celebration showed the cultural, historical and economic importance and background of the Silk Road as one of the oldest known trade routes in the world, and its large role in achieving connectivity and communication among historical civilizations since ancient times.
The event also included cultural performances of participating countries that aimed to promote tourism and investment in these countries, the statement said.
In his speech, Egyptian Ambassador in Vienna Khaled Shamaa said the event contributes to strengthening bonds of friendship and cooperation between the participating countries.
