Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Yasser Atef has inaugurated a new season for the Egyptian cultural office in Kuwait and honored a galaxy of Kuwaiti and Egyptian culture and art figures.
The Egyptian ambassador and Egypt's Cultural Attache honored the Kuwait National Council for Culture, Art and Literature and the Kuwait League of Intellectuals and the Kuwait High Institute for Theatrical Arts, the Middle East News Agency's office in Kuwait and a number of Kuwaiti newspapers; Al Khaleej, Al Anbaa, Assiyssah, Al Qabas, Al Najar and Al Gareeda.
In statements to reporters on the fringe of the ceremony, which was held late Saturday, Ambassador Atef said the honor comes to appreciate the figures who have contributed to extending cultural bridges between Egypt and Egypt whether individuals or foundations.
He said October will witness a number of cultural and artistic events as part of an agreement on rendering 2015 a year for the Egyptian cultural in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti culture in Egypt.
The ambassador also highlighted the role of intellectual figures and journalists in overcoming any feelings of fear or despair at a very critical phase of the Arab region's history.
