Egypt's Culture Minister Abdel Wahed el Nabawy left here on Friday, winding up a several days' visit to Jordan.
During the visit, Nabawy and his Jordanian counterpart Lana Mamkegh inaugurated the "Egyptian cultural days" in Jordan's Jerash.
The event comes within the framework of celebrations to pick Jerash as the 2015 City of Culture.
Nabawy and Mamkegh discussed means to enhance bilateral cooperation, activate joint cultural agreements and programs, and benefit from technical expertise of both countries in managing cultural activities.
Egypt's Culture Ministry will present 10,000 books to the National Library of Jordan, according to Nabawy.
Also, they agreed to organize 10 cultural events annually with the participation of artists from both countries.
Egypt's Culture Ministry is willing to boost cooperation with Jordan and is seeking to benefit from Jordan's experience in the cultural cities project.
He called for developing a clear Arab strategy to create a cultural discourse, noting that the strategy should be put forward at the upcoming meeting of Arab culture ministers.
Culture and thought are the only way to fight extremist ideologies that spread among Arab youth, he asserted
