National Museum of Iran will no longer cooperate with the Louvre Museum of France, a statement said on Wednesday. The statement said that the decision was made following denial of existence of any joint agreement on holding exhibitions between the two museums by the spokesman of the Louvre Museum. The statement said that a cultural agreement has been signed between Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and the Louvre Museum on October 31, 2004. In the meantime, the ICHHTO expressed surprise that the French museum denied the cultural agreement while the Iranain National Museum has held two exhibitions in Paris so far as per the 2004 agreement! The statement said that cultural agreement on cooperation between the two sides expires at the end of June, 2011 and that the Iranian side will no longer cooperate with the Louvre Museum of France.
