Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday the West, by its Iranophobia scenario tried to escape from the regional pressures and the Islamic vigilance consequences. Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Ramin Mehmanparast called on those groups angry over anti-Iran measures taken by Britain to exercise self-control. Referring to the unplanned raid on the UK embassy in Tehran, he said it was “unacceptable”, announcing Iran’s readiness to adhere to the international regulations and its commitments to protect foreign diplomats in the country. The spokesman reiterated that the Iranian people will not let foreign countries endanger their national interests. They will sharply react to any threats in a reasonable way, he added. The current political circumstances indicate that the US and its western allies have been faced with political pressures, said Mehmanparast. “Wave of Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa has brought them under the growing pressure that made them leave the region and exercise Iranophobia scenario instead.
