The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development is organising the first UAE art biennale from April 11th-16th with the participation of 38 artists from more than 30 Arab and foreign countries at the Hili Rayhaan Rotana Hotel in Al Ain.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development said that the events of the first session of the biennale will include a number of lectures, workshops, courses and meetings, as well as orchestra concerts and traditional fashion shows.
The minister pointed out that the event aims to serve as a platform for effective cultural exchange and to highlight the UAE's cultural and artistic contributions to the world. The art biennale will also consolidate the presence of UAE artists in the global art scene and encourage artistic communicate between different cultures.
Sheikh Nahyan stressed that the development witnessed by the UAE in the cultural sector is due to the attention and the great support given by the government under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates.
