Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, currently on an official visit to the United States, met US Senator John McCain in Washington and reviewed with him bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States and ways of boosting them in all fields.
They also touched on issues of common concern, anti-terrorism efforts and how to support peace efforts in the region and the world where the minister hailed the constant interaction between the two friendly countries and praised the ever-growing and long-standing relations.
He also commended the incessant efforts exerted by the two countries to broaden bilateral cooperation and underpin coordination and consultation vis-à-vis various issues of common interest, praising US pivotal role in dealing with regional and global challenges such as the global war on terror and regional stability and affirming Bahrain’s back-up for such efforts.
Senator McCain welcomed the minister and talked about ways of boosting bilateral relations in all domains and how to coordinate stances at all gatherings, hailing Bahrain’s counter-terrorism and extremism efforts and vowing to prop them up to ensure the Kingdom’s security and stability wishing it every progress and prosperity.
