Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met today the member of the Fatah Central Committee of the State of Palestine, Azzam Al-Ahmad, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The minister welcomed the member of the Fatah Central Committee and praised the efforts exerted by the Palestinian people to consolidate and strengthen their Palestinian factions, stressing the importance of this achievement in reaching the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state and restore their legitimate rights.
Shaikh Khalid reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's firm and supportive position on the Palestinian issue and the need to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the issue on the basis of the two-state solution. This includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital, along the lines of 4 June 1967 and in accordance with the resolutions of the relevant international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
The minister also stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to obligate Israel to stop all violations committed against the Palestinian people, land and holy sites, which are contrary to international norms, laws, religious principles and human values.
Azzam Al-Ahmad expressed his pride in visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain and meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressing the sincere appreciation of the Palestinian people for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position in support of the Palestinian cause in various international forums, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
