Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim Al Jubouri met Sunday with US Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS Brett McGurk, currently visiting Baghdad.
During the meeting, they discussed the security and political situation in Iraq and the region, the war against terrorism and cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the international coalition led by the United States.Al Jubouri said that the conditions today is suitable to conduct comprehensive national reconciliation in Iraq, but what makes those conditions more convenient is to re-displace people to their homes and make them more stable and secure.
He also stressed that the Iraqi forces in all its different forms and formations made a major victory at ISIS organization in a record time and managed to defeat it.For his part, McGurk confirmed continuing international support for Iraq in its war against terrorism and in support of relief and humanitarian issue and pointed out that the United States is keen to support restoring security and stability to the areas that has seen tensions because of ISIS elements.
