President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held talks with UAE's Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan who paid a short visit to Cairo on Thursday.
According to presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef, President Sisi received the Crown Prince at Cairo International Airport earlier in the day.
Both leaders held talks at el Ethadia Palace, followed by wide-range discussions between two countries' delegations, the spokesman said.
Sisi shed light on the distinct relations binding UAE and Egypt under Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, the spokesman said.
He also expressed appreciation to the level of relations maintained by both sides and close cooperation which served as a model for the strategic cooperation between Arab countries, he added.
Sisi also stressed the importance of working constantly to promote bilateral cooperation in all domains.
The current phase requires fostering Arab cohesion as a way to counter existing common challenges, he said.
Egypt stands by UAE in face of any regional or external threats, the president asserted.
For his part, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince stressed the special relation binding Egypt and UAE, hoping for more stability, progress and prosperity for Egypt.
He also asserted working to reunite Arabs and face attempts to bring instability to the region.
He hailed the bilateral relations as a vital for security and stability of the region.
The meeting discussed ways to boost bilateral relations in all fields, the spokesman concluded.
