over 250 expatriates Sudanese scholars and scientists are holding a meeting on Friday to discuss in 40 applicable researches ways of contributing to the desired development in the country.
The Sudanese scientists, scholars and experts who hail from different specializations seek to set the foundation of the Council for Sudanese Experts and Scholars Working abroad and establish modalities and mechanisms for transfer of knowledge and technologies as well as networking among experts and scientists on the one hand and scientific and research institutions inside the country on the other hand.
According to Dr. Karat Al Tuhami, the Secretary General of the Sudanese expatriates Authority, an chairman of the Executive Committee for the Conference, the experts will put in place clear cut policies and to deepen contact between the two sides in the various fields of knowledge and see how the country could make use of the knowledge's and expatriates know how in the various domains and how they would contribute in resolving the challenges facing their homeland.
He said they would also like to draw the lines that would demarcate the contribution of the Sudanese working abroad in boosting development and how to reach ideas that are actually implementable.
He said the conference is expected to dwell on transfer of digital knowledge, and the need to transfer digital technologies in a way that would help in attracting technologies and how the national institutions could be developed and capacities of human resources be built .
Tuhami said the conference would also discuss the experience of some countries and how they were able to transfer home knowledge and knowhow from abroad to their homeland areas.
