Egypt will take part in the 19th summit meetings and the ministerial council of COMESA countries, which will be held in Madagascar on October 14-19, said Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil.
Egypt's participation in the upcoming meetings of COMESA reflect support to the regional integration process among the COMESA complex, he added.
Madagascar will receive the chairmanship of COMESA in succession of Ethiopia, he added.
This came during Qabil's meeting with COMESA Secretary General Sindiso Ngwenya and in the presence of adviser of trade and industry minister Sayed el Bous.
The meeting took up the latest developments related to COMESA agreement and the ongoing negotiations regarding the free trade zone.
The government is currently studying the establishment of a direct navigation line between the Egyptian ports and the ports of the COMESA state members, he added.
