Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathy said on Monday that biometric airport equipment recommended by Russian inspectors should arrive in Egypt sometime next month.
"It should arrive in Egypt in mid-November. We will need some time to install it, then we will contact our Russian colleagues and discuss our further steps," Fathy was quoted by Sputnik as saying.
Acting on Russia's recommendation following the latest safety inspections in September, Fathy said Cairo had ordered the biometric access systems to track the arrival and departure of airport staff and expected them to be installed in four months.
The minister added that parallel work with experts to install the systems is underway.
