Some Lebanese activists urged citizens to stage a protest and sit-in on September 9 , the day that was set by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to bring together all political factions to discuss various crises.
The “You Stink” follow up committee, formed by some activists, has called on citizens nationwide to partake in the sit-in and take to streets to exert more pressure on the Lebanese government to meet their demands.
The aim behind the protest is to respond to their demands represented in building a civil and democratic state, based on equality and social justice, providing electricity for all areas all the day, reviewing salaries and wages files in a way that ensures a decent life for citizens, ensuring the independence of the judiciary and public freedoms, according to the committee' founders.
