President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will arrive here Sunday on a visit to Singapore as part of an Asian tour that will also take him to China and Indonesia.
A reception will be held for Sisi at the presidential palace in Singapore on Monday, after which he will hold talks with his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan.
An expanded meeting with delegations of the two countries will be held later on in the day to discuss means of boosting bilateral ties and attract new investments to the Suez Canal Corridor project.
Sisi is also scheduled to meet with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Egyptian Ambassador in Singapore Fatma Galal called Sisi's visit to the Asian country "historic", being the first by an Egyptian president since diplomatic relations between the two countries were established.
The visit also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Singapore's independence, Galal said.
Egypt was the first Arab country to recognize Singapore's independence in August 1965, the diplomat noted.
Singapore is one of the biggest countries in terms of its financial position and expertise in many fields, including water processing and desalination, shipping and unloading, Galal said.
She said the president will discuss with officials here means to increase the volume of trade exchange and increase the flow of Singaporean investments to Egypt, particularly in the fields of agriculture and shipping
