Gone Girl premiered a new trailer during the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday.
The preview opens with a happy Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) on the night they first met, and transitions to the drama after Amy goes missing. Nick is suspected of the crime, and the trailer sees him confronted by his lawyer, police and Amy's parents.
Gone Girl is based on Gillian Flynn's novel of the same name, and is directed by David Fincher (Se7en, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The film opens in theaters October 3, and co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry.
