Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast of the female-centric Ghostbusters sequel, director Paul Feig announced on Twitter.
"Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall," Feig tweeted Wednesday, alongside a photo of Hemsworth, who is best known for playing the superhero Thor in the Marvel movie franchise.
The long-awaited third installment in the Ghostbusters film series will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. It is expected to hit theaters next year.
Ghostbusters, released in 1984, and its 1989 sequel Ghostbusters II starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson as the titular spirit dispatchers. Designing Women actress Annie Potts played their receptionist Janine in both movies.
