Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass star in the first trailer for The One I Love.
The 31-year-old Mad Men star and 37-year old The League actor portray estranged married couple Sophie and Ethan. The pair are on the verge of separation when their relationship therapist (Ted Danson) suggests the two go on a romantic retreat. The weekend getaway turns into a surreal experience of self-examination after the characters make an unexpected discovery.
The movie is directed by Charlie McDowell, son of actor Malcolm McDowell, and produced by Mel Eslyn. Justin Lader wrote the script with room for Duplass and Moss to improvise their lines.
The One I Love opens in limited release August 15. Moss will reprise her role as Peggy Olson on the final season of Mad Men next year, and is also scheduled to star in High-Rise alongside Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons. Duplass will next appear in an adaptation of Stephen King's Mercy, with Lazarus for 2015.
