Jamie Dornan isn't signed on for Fifty Shades of Grey spinoffs.
The 33-year-old Northern Irish actor portrayed Christian Grey in the first movie and will return for sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, but is not confirmed for the potential film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey from Grey's point of view.
Fifty Shades author E.L. James recently announced she will release the spinoff novel, Grey, on June 18. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter Universal owns the rights to adapt the book, but did not include details for such a project in Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson's contracts.
Fifty Shades of Grey follows the relationship between college student Anastasia Steele (Johnson) and Christian Grey (Dornan), a young businessman with a predilection for BDSM. The movie adaptation opened in February, and earned over $569 million at the box office.
Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled for release in Feb. 2017, and debuted a first teaser trailer in April. Fifty Shades Freed will follow in Feb. 2018, but Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return to helm the sequels.
