Jason Alexander and other Broadway veterans star in the first trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's musical Lucky Stiff.
The movie tells the story of a bachelor who travels to Monte Carlo to collect an inheritance form his late uncle. The Seinfeld actor co-stars in the film with Tony winner Nikki M. James and Dominic Marsh.
The film adaptation of Lucky Stiff was written by both Ahrens and Michael Butterworth -- the author of the novel that inspired the musical. The movie was choreographed by Joey Pizzi (Burlesque) and will reportedly feature additional songs composed by Flaherty.
The Christopher Ashley-directed film is set to premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival, which runs from August 21 through September 1.
Lucky Stiff was Ahrens and Flaherty's first musical. After its debut in April 1988 the duo went on to compose the Tony-winning plays Ragtime and Rocky.
