Sin City: A Dame to Kill For released a new, red band trailer Tuesday.
The preview features plenty of blood and mayhem, and includes the first look at Lady Gaga as diner waitress Bertha. The 28-year-old singer previously portrayed a poison-happy waitress in her music video for "Telephone," and confirmed her role in the movie Monday on Instagram.
The film is based on the comic series by Frank Miller, and directed by Miller and Robert Rodriguez. The story follows Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) as she struggles with John Hartigan's (Bruce Willis) suicide and plots revenge on Senator Roark (Powers Boothe), Dwight McCarthy (Josh Brolin) as he deals with duplicitous former lover Ava Lord (Eva Green) and her abusive husband (Marton Csokas) and gambler Johnny (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) as he attempts to bring Roark down himself. Mickey Rourke, Jamie Chung and Rosario Dawson also star as Marv, Miho and Gail, respectively.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has the same stylized look as Sin City (2005), and is scheduled for release August 22.
