Rebecca Ferguson will star with Emily Blunt in The Girl on the Train.
The 31-year-old Swedish actress is in talks to join the 32-year-old British star in an upcoming adaptation of the Paula Hawkins novel. Secretary writer Erin Cressida Wilson will pen the script, with The Help helmer Tate Taylor as director.
Ferguson will portray Anna, wife to Blunt's character, Rachel's, ex-husband. Rachel copes with her divorce by drinking and fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple she passes on her daily train ride, and becomes involved in a possible crime during a blackout episode.
Ferguson recently appeared in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation with Tom Cruise, and is also scheduled for Florence Foster Jenkins with Meryl Streep. Blunt, meanwhile, is slated for Sicario with Benicio Del Toro and The Huntsman with Chris Hemsworth.
