In 2006, Rocky Balboa was sent off in what was thought to be the final picture of the franchise, but Warner Brothers has just released a trailer for Creed.
Creed brings fans back to Philadelphia, and introduces them to the son of Apollo Creed, Adonis. The film is a spin off of the original franchise focusing on Adonis and his career. Apollo Creed had been Rocky's opponent in Rocky I and II, the two characters would later become friends and allies in Rocky III and IV.
Adonis Creed much like his father is a boxer, though in the trailer he is told that unlike others he hasn't had to work as hard due to his namesake. Creed seeks out Balboa and the two meet in the ex-boxer's restaurant before it cuts to a montage of training and personal moments.
Creed deals with Adonis' battle in and out of the ring and the anger he face over losing his dad when he was younger. Entertainment Weekly reported that Michael B. Jordan will be playing Adonis and the film is directed by Ryan Coogler who has worked with Jordan in the past.
Creed fits right into the Rocky franchise and sticks to the original characters while still bringing it's own spin to the story. Creed is due to be out in theaters on Nov. 25, 2015.
