The Egyptian Journalism association, headed by the journalist Khalid Foad, is organising a conference entitled \"Egyptian song among piracy and low public taste\" in early November. The event will take place in the Salah Abdel Sabour hall at The General Egyptian Book Organisation, November 1. Headed by Dr Ahmed Megahed, the seminar will look into the Egyptian song crisis, how to elevate its level, the state role represented in music unions, the composers’ associations, and the Egyptian artistic works censorship authority in protecting artists from piracy operations, on internet, albums mafia and rigged CDs. The symposium will be accompanied by a poetry gathering event evening where a number of famous poets and talented young acts will share their work. As well as this talented new singers will also take centre stage to perform. Directed by the famous poet Foad Hagag, the guest list will also include several poets, musicians, and singers including Mohamed Soltan, Ghada Ragab, Ali El Hajar, Nabil Khalaf, Mohamed El Helw, Helmy Bakr, Nadia Mostafa, Hany Mohana, Reda Ragab, Fawzy Ibrahim, and Dr Sayed Khatab, Fayed Abdel Aziz and others, in addition to some new Egyptian talents.
