Barbra Streisand, one of the most enduring US entertainers, on Monday announced a new album featuring duets of Broadway musical numbers with Hollywood stars.
Streisand revealed the album, entitled "Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway," as she scheduled a tour of North American arenas throughout August in which she will perform some of the songs.
The singer's management in a statement did not reveal the release date of the album or her collaborators but said she would sing Broadway classics with "some of Hollywood's biggest stars."
It will be the third album of Broadway classics by Streisand, who had her start on the New York stage before becoming a leading force both in film and music.
Streisand's last album, "Partners," came out in 2014 and consisted of duets with an all-male lineup that included Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie.
With the album, Streisand became the first artist to reach number one on the Billboard chart over six consecutive decades.
The 74-year-old singer has performed sparingly since a tour across North American and Europe in 2012-13.
Her latest tour will take her to nine cities with two dates in her native Brooklyn.
