T.I. announced ATL 2 on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old rapper revealed he and original stars Jackie Long, Albert Daniels and Jason Weaver are confirmed for the sequel by sharing a group photo on Instagram. Director Chris Robinson is also pictured and will return to helm the film.
"#ATL2 Get Ready," he captioned the snapshot. Robinson added, "#ATL WAS A CLASSIC #ATL2 WILL BE LEGENDARY!!! 'AND SO IT BEGINS' THE CREW @troubleman31 @jackielong @albeback @itsjasonweaver #RITF #BONG."
ATL was released in 2006, and follows high school senior Rashad (T.I.) and his group of friends. The film was loosely based the teenage experiences of producers Dallas Austin and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, and earned over $21 million at the box office.
T.I. released his ninth studio album, Paperwork, in October 2014. He made his major film debut in ATL, and later appeared in American Gangster and Identity Thief. The actor is also scheduled for Get Hard with Will Ferrell, the Entourage movie and Marvel film Ant-Man with Paul Rudd.
