The management of Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival chose the Egyptian film “Baad El Mawkeaa” (After the battle), directed by Yousry Nasrallah, to represent Egypt in the competition of feature films, which occurs from 17 to 22 September in the Luxor region. This is the second participation of Egyptian film in international festivals of after participation in the official competition of “Kan Festival\" which was held in May. According to Magda Wassef, the President of the Festival: \"The Egyptian film “Baad El Mawkeaa” (After the battle) is one of the most important film experiences made by Egyptian cinema in recent times, especially a film that its director managed to restore Egypt to participate in “Kan Festival, after an absence of 15 years since the great director Youssef Chahine directed “Al Masser” (determination) in the official competition of the 15th session and won the Palme d\'Or at the same session for his overall work.\" “Baad El Mawkeaa” competes with films from nine European countries which areFrance, Germany, Romania, Finland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Spain, Greece and Portugal.\" The jury consists of the director Samir Seif, Chairman of the Committee and French producer Jacques Bidault, German critic Barbara Laurie, the Portuguese actress Teresa Villaverde and the Croatian director Branko Schmidt. “Baad El Mawkeaa” stars Menna Shalaby, Basem Samra,, Nahed El Sabaay and Fareh. It was written by Yousry Nasrallah and Omar Shamma and produced by Walid Kurdi.
