Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakhirji finished shooting for her upcoming movie “Hawi.” In the movie, she plays Amal, a nurse working in a hospital. She suffers from the stigma of being a divorced woman. Her dream is to raise her son. Later in the movie, she turns into a corrupt person involved in criminal activities. The movie highlights the problem a divorced woman faces and how she is often labeled with shame. The movie was up for nomination in the Damascus International Film Festival, but the festival has been postponed due to unrest in Syria.
