Riyadh - Muslimchronicle

Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), will take part in the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, which will be held between Nov. 6-8.
“This event is an opportunity for Saudi Arabia to shed light on the country’s development and the special attention it gives to the tourism sector as a highly profitable economic industry, which also creates more job opportunities,” said Abdullah bin Abdul Malik Al-Murshid, acting vice president for marketing and programs at SCTH.
The Kingdom’s pavilion will include more than 20 exhibitors from the government and private sectors, and is set to present SCTH’s initiatives and programs, which are part of the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 and aim to achieve Vision 2030, he added.
Among the government bodies participating in the Kingdom’s pavilion are King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC); the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA); the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA); and the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences, in addition to Saudi Arabian Airlines’ separate pavilion.
The Saudi pavilion is designed to express the country’s tourism and heritage identity using interactive presentation technologies as well as videos and photos. It will also feature Saudi sites listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
Al-Murshid praised the role of the Saudi Embassy in the UK in organizing the Kingdom’s participation in the exhibition, providing Saudi students in Europe with the opportunity to present a distinguished image of the country’s civilization and history, and communicating with international media agencies to cover the Kingdom’s participation.
The WTM is among the largest, most important international exhibitions in the fields of travel, tourism, investment, air transport and travel technologies. Every year, around 5,000 bodies from almost 188 countries participate in this event, which attracts more than 3,000 media people, 4,200 experts and 50,000 visitors.
