The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) has increased the frequency of trains between Riyadh, Dammam, and Hufuf to 238 trips per week starting from Sept. 18, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.
The trips between Riyadh and Dammam have been increased to 82 per week, in addition to 68 between Riyadh and Hufuf, and 88 between Dammam and Hufuf. The new schedule covers Abqaiq station with 61 trips a week between Riyadh, Dammam, and Hufuf, including 30 trips to Dammam, and 31 to Hufuf and Riyadh each week.
The SRO said this increase in the number of passenger trips seeks to provide multiple choices for customers as well as to cater to a growing public demand. During the first eight months of this year, the railway passenger trains have transferred about 888,000 passengers, marking an increase of more than 49,000 people compared to the same period in the previous year.
