Tunisian National Guard(TNG) killed, on Wednesday, two extremist militants in an initial toll of clashes between the security forces and an armed group, in the northern province of Kasserine, informed sources said. "Tunisian security forces have killed two suspected extremists during an operation in a mountainous area near the Algerian border," National Guard spokesman Khalifa Chibani said.
One of them is suspected of being the leading figure in the extremist organizations in Tunisia, Abu Ouf al-Muhajir, the brother of Luqman Abu Sakhr.
Sources pointed out that the extremist group besieged a large number, between four and seven extremists, and is likely to kill this group, which includes dangerous terrorist elements.
In the same context, a third suspect was critically wounded in the operation launched on Tuesday evening on Mount Birinou in the Kasserine region, and was arrested later, according to the sources.
The terrorist elements participated in several extremist operations such as Awlad Manna'a operation in Jendouba, which resulted in the death of four policemen.
