NATO airstrikes have been hitting targets every half an hour Col. Muammar Gaddafi said Tuesday the only thing he is concerned with is "the call of duty" and his government "will not surrender." Gaddafi spoke in a live broadcast on state television hours after his spokesman
said NATO airstrikes pounded his compound, CNN reported.
"I am now speaking as planes and bombs fall around me," Gaddafi said. "But my soul is in God's hand. We will not think about death or life. We will think about the call of duty."
A spokesman said at least 31 civilians were killed Tuesday by NATO bombing in Tripoli. The government said airstrikes Monday night targeted state television facilities, killing two.
"We will not surrender, we will not give up," Gaddafi said. "We have one option -- our country. We will remain in it 'til the end. Dead, alive, victorious, it doesn't matter."
