Iraqi joint forces resumed their advance towards the center of Mousl in the framework of the current military operations to liberate Mousl's right bank from the grip of ISIS, as anti-extremism troops managed managed to storm Wadi Hajar dropping five drones related to the extremist group.
On his hand, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi announced the launch of a new phase of the military operations to liberate Mousl right bank, stressing that the advanced troops work to liberate the human before liberating the territories. He stressed the need for protecting the civilian people during the current operations.
According to a statement, anti-extremism troops managed to resume their advance in the areas of the Iraqi second largest city, as they stormed Wadi Hajar area and resumed cleansing the residential buildings of Mamoun district. It added that they destroyed three bombing wheels and two motorcycles in addition to bombing ten explosive devices. They also killed a large number of extremists and destroyed a vehicle carrying weapons.
The statement added that the federal police forces resumed their advance in the districts of Jawsaq and Aviation, saying that they controlled the fourth bridge linking between the city's right and left banks. They also killed a number of extremists, including a sniper with explosive belt.
The statement praised the role performed by the Iraqi air forces to secure 39 combat missions through which they killed a large number of extremists and destroyed a car bomb, a motorcycle and a number of equipment possessed by the extremist group. It added that the Iraqi air forces also secured three combat missions against ISIS strongholds in Mousl right bank and Telaffar. They destroyed a laboratory to make explosives and a store of weapons in the district.
It added that the International Coalition fighter jets secured 54 combat missions in which the Iraqi troops managed to kill a large number of extremists and destroyed a bombing wheels and stores of weapons in addition to a number of tunnels related to the extremist group.
Iraqi military leader Abdel Ghani Al Assadi revealed that the extremists withdrew their militants from the areas that witnessed the advance of the Iraqi troops, saying that the Iraqi troops resume their operations to liberate the areas controlled by ISIS. He underlined that the foreign militants still exist in the areas, while the Iraqi militants withdrew.
