The calls of U.S President Donald Trump to move the Israeli embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem raised controversy among the Palestinian factions, as they warned of the repercussions of such a move.
A number of Palestinian factions held a meting in Ramallah to discuss the developments in the Palestinian arena and expected repercussions of Trump's inauguration.
In a joint statement, the Palestinian factions expressed their concern over Trump's statements to move his country's embassy in Israel to the old city of Jerusalem, saying that it could ignite the region.
They stressed that the American president has not the right to take such action, saying that Trump's intention reflects his biased position from the Palestinan issue.
The Palestinian factions stressed the need for practical measures to prevent such a step, warning that it would legalize the Israeli operations of annexation and other unilateral actions taken by the Israeli occupation.
