Qaeda extremist group announced the killing of one of its prominent leaders called Aboul Kheir Al Masry during an air raid launched by an American drone related to the U.S Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The announcement coincided with a number of reports over the killing of the extremist element.
The group revealed, in a statement, that the leading member of the extremist group is considered the second man in Qaeda after Ayman Al Zawahri. It added that he was killed during an American air raid that targeted his car in Syria.
According to CIA, the leading member of the extremist group was killed after targeting him with Hellfire missile launched by a drone related to the CIA on late Sunday. A number of photos for the targeted car have been published on social media networks.
The attack led to the killing of two members of Qaeda, including Aboul Kheir Al Masy who was married to Osama Bin Laden’s daughter. He was responsible for a large number of extremist attacks, including the attacks against the U.S embassies in both Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. He also participated in Bosnia war 1990 before heading to Afghanistan.
He escaped from Afghanistan after 9/11 terrorist attacks heading to Iran where he was arrested with a number of Qaeda’s leading members in 2003. Then, he travelled to Syria in 2015 after his release from the Iranian prison with two of his partners.
