Ahly coach Manuel Jose
Following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Gouna in the Egyptian Premier League, Ahly’s Portuguese coach Manuel Jose accepted responsible for the result.
“The team missed out on three points as the game
didn’t meet our expectations,” Jose told his players in the changing room after the game.
“We should win the coming games to lead us back to the top of the table where we belong,” he added. “I ask you to concentrate on the remaining matches to put the team back on the right track.”
Defending champions Ahly continued their slow start to the Egyptian Premier League having lost four points in two games respectively. The 1-1 home draw with Gouna came a week after a 2-2 draw at Petrojet.
“I am confident of your ability to win the coming games to offset the loss of points,” Jose concluded.
Ahly have gained only five points from the first three games of the season and they will be hosted by Ittihad of Alexandria on Friday.
