Oman’s Fatma Al Nabhani stormed into the singles final of the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit Cairo tournament in Egypt on Saturday.
In a keenly contested semifinal, fourth seeded Fatma overcame stiff challenge from Romanian fifth seed Cristina Ene for a thrilling 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 victory.
In the summit clash, Fatma awaits Belgian seventh seed Helene Scholen.
Scholen advanced after upsetting top seeded Slovakian Chantal Skamlova 7-5, 7-6 (3).
Later in the day, Fatma and her Egyptian partner Sandra Samir failed to clear the final hurdle and settled for the runners-up trophy.
In the final, Fatma and Sandra were beaten 6-3, 6-1 by Akaya Okuno of Japana and Slovakia’s Chantal Skamlova.
