Senegal and Morocco reach CAF U-23 championship semi-finals
A 31st minute strike from Abdoulaye Ba sealed Senegal a spot in the semi-finals of the CAF U-23 Championship after beating hosts Morocco 1-0 in the third and final matchday of
Group A on Friday.
The young Teranga Lions have topped the group, with six points, courtesy of a better goal difference than Morocco.
Nigeria finally delivered their goods with a thrashing 4-1 victory against Algeria. Baghdad Bounedjad gave Algeria a first half lead in the 42ndminute but the Nigerians fired back in the second half through a hat-trick Raheem Lawal in the 47, 75 and 84 minutes while Daniel Uchechi completed the rout in the 87thminute.
The victory leaves Nigeria in the third spot with only three points after conceding two early defeats against Morocco and Senegal.
