Special Operations’ forces broke into a neighborhood on the right side of Mosul to free it from Daesh, while Iraqi joint forces entered the old area with 200 meters deep, at the time some sources revealed that, there have been traces of looting operations near prophet Younis tomb by some of the residents. Some sources said in a statement that “Arab Today” was able to see, that Mosul’s antiquities near prophet Younis tomb are stolen by some residents, as a result of the preoccupation of the security forces to protect the citizens. The sources added that Daesh tunnels were discovered under the tomb, filled with thousands of antiquities and statues that were stolen by Daesh elements adding that there are still many antiquities they couldn’t smuggle from the tunnels because of their sizes. These antiquities tell the story of a scattered Assyrian city, half of them were stolen and the other big half remained, with zero effort from the government or any other international organization to reach and save these antiquities. Federal Police chief, Shaker Jawdat said that federal forces launched a sudden operation on Pine Bar Area near the old city with 200 meters deep, adding that the enemy elements started to retreat from the place. He added that the forces managed to control the neighboring area of El Hadba’a, targeting suspicious cars and armed people. Experts say that the old area on the right side of Mosul is significant to Daesh because it has the “Grand Mosque of Nuri”, from which Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi announced the beginning of the so-called “State of the Caliphate” back in 2014. A military official said that fighting extremism forces with the International aircrafts resumed their advance in Revolution neighborhood in Mosul, amid complete collapse of Daesh defense line. A statement by the Military Information Cell said that, according to intelligence information and the federal investigations, the Syrian Air Force targeted locations of Daesh elements in Raqaa, which contains high ranked Syrian extremist leaders. The statement added that the raids also destroyed El Hesba, Money office, Shari'a Board and economic office headquarters, which all belong to Daesh . Diyala police spokesman, east of Iraq, Colonel Ghaleb Al-Attiyah said that, the security forces arrested 2 extremists according to terrorism article 4 in Habhab south of Diyala, adding that the forces also arrested 12 others wanted persons on terrorism and criminal cases. Among the detainees is one eho is wanted for the attacks near Abi Saida of Muqdadiya district which happened in the last four days, and the forces transferred the arrested persons to police stations to wait for their trials. The security forces during the last weeks managed to arrest dozens of extremists and wanted in different places in Diyala governorate. Directorate of Military Intelligence in Baghdad announced that forces of brigade 24, brand 6 chased and arrested a dangerous extremist, wanted for trail according to article 4 in an ambush on Zidane Bridge in Abu Ghraib area.
