Tunisian actress Dorra Zarrouk Tunisian actress Dorra Zarrouk sees her experience in Mohamed Saad's recent film as largely successful and has received huge positive feedback since its screening. Dorra, who plays the character of Atifa,  said the experience was completely new to her. She also expressed her pleasure on working with a superstar like Saad, telling 'Arabstoday' that he always seeked to make everyone around him happy and loved to draw make them smile.
"I did not know him before the movie but had already heard so much about him...it was a wonderful experience," she said.
The most attractive feature of her character Atifa was her sense of humour and kindness that she acquired from the humble environment she lived in, according to Dorra. She added that she was worried at first about how the audience would receive her, but the challenge of breaking the mould of familiar roles her fans were used to seeing her in was encouraging enough for her to take the risk and play the part of Atifa.
Dorra confirmed that some of her scenes were deleted in the film, but thar it did not negatively affect the character. She also insisted that Saad had nothing to do with scene deletions, as alleged by some.
Of the poor revenue generated by the film, Dorra  said that 10 million EGP was not little in the context of the bad conditions Egyptians people live in and the hard conditions of the film industry after the Revolution. "The success or failure of a film is not measured by revenue, especially when we consider the special conditions dominating Egypt that creates a need for comedy," said Dorra.
Two television series in Ramadan are also in the offing for the superstar, who said she wasn't worried at all about broadcasting Adam and El Rayan at the same time. "I don't have leading roles in either, I co-star and there is also a big difference between the two characters. Samiha in El Rayan is a character from the 1970s, so her costumes and make up are completely different from Hana in Adam which represents a modern young woman."
Turning to political views, Dorra said to us that the revolutions of the Arab Spring are a good sign as they reflect the love and closeness between Arab states and their people. She added that all crises that took place among Arab states were created by those who wished to divide the Arab people without giving them a chance to unite.
"I hope Allah may free the Syrian and Yemeni people soon. These two countries with the support of the Lord will have their freedom and their leaders who are committing the most brutal crimes against them will have the proper penalty and punishment just as Gaddafi who was killed for cracking down his people," she said
Dorra also stressed that her career as an actor is a reason for pride as it is a respected, though tiring job. She said she doesn't want her children working in the same field as it was exhausting, and not for the alleged infamy of the community.
Regarding her drive to succeed, she said that it was not money that makes her work hard. "I hate to talk about financial matters, I work for art." she said.
She expressed her confidence in her supportive fans who trust her talent, and said that she always did her best to satisfy them.
