Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong`o
J.J. Abrams is still working on his cast for Star Wars: Episode VII, his highly anticipated sequel to the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas in 1977. No one has been officially confirmed by producers, though Carrie Fisher, Mark
Hamill and Harrison Ford are thought to be returning in some capacity.
Another name in the mix is recent Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, who took home a statuette for her role in 12 Years a Slave earlier this month. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that Nyong'o met with Abrams about a possible role shortly before the Academy Awards.
Nyong'o, 31, won't be up for the lead 20-something female character, THR said, though she could play "a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi."
Other rumors indicate that Adam Driver, a breakout star on Girls, will soon sign on to play a Darth Vader-style villain.
Abrams and crew will begin shooting this April in London.
