Three years after launching its olfactory Replica line, conceived as a series of reproductions of familiar scents and past moments, Maison Margiela is releasing two new fragrances to join them. Both will be available for purchase as of October 1.
The Replica collection fragrances, which are meant to recall scents, emotions and familiar moments, are also inspired by the concept shared by the eponymous clothing and accessory collections of the luxury brand: reproducing fun outfits and accessories that are based on specific cultures and eras.
This olfactory collection will expand to include two newcomers in October: By the Fireplace and Lipstick On will both evoke a specific time and place.
By the Fireplace draws its inspiration from the resort area of Chamonix in the 1970s, bringing back to life through scent that warm moment by the fireplace while the snow blankets everything outside. The fragrance opens on frosty notes, softened by hints of chestnut and woodsy scents.
For Lipstick On, Maison Margiela takes us back to 1952 Chicago. It is a moment of absolute femininity that the brand has put in a bottle: a woman getting ready for a night out, alone in front of her mirror. The fragrance blends Orris butter with notes of galbanum, bourbon vanilla and absolute of tonka bean.
With these additions, the Replica collection now counts eight fragrances. By the Fireplace and Lipstick On will be available for purchase as of October 1. Price: €85 for 100ml.
