The legendary 20th century fashion editor has been celebrated in a new fragrance collection.
The Diana Vreeland Parfums line has been created by her grandson Alexander Vreeland and is designed to reflect Vreeland's theatrical personality, love of words and passion for intense colors.
There are five different fragrances, each named after a quote from Vreeland, who lived from 1903 until 1989 and held some of the industry's top roles, including editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine.
Extravagance Russe by Clement Gavarry mixes deep ambers and resins. Absolutely Vital by Yves Cassar is a blend of Indian sandalwood, Turkish rose and jasmin absolute from Egypt, over a heart of myrrh and opoponax resin and a vanilla drydown. Perfectly Marvellous by Celine Barel opens with jasmine absolute from India, red sandalwood and pimento over jasmine sambac, cashmeran musk and spices.
Simply Divine, also by Clement Gavarry, is a tuberose and nutmeg concoction with Tunisian orange flower and jasmine absolute from Egypt over Indian sandalwood, tonka beans and musk. Finally, Outrageously Vibrant by Carlos Benaim blends creme de cassis, patchouli and rose.
The perfumes will launch August 21 at Selfridges in the UK and at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman in the US, available in two sizes, 100ml (£180, approx $300) and 50ml (£135, approx $230). They'll also hit Colette in Paris in September, alongside three scented candles and a body lotion.
