Kate Middleton style icon
Style icon Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has reportedly spent $55,000 on “work-related” clothes since she joined the royal family in April 2011, equalling her husband’s salary for his work
as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot.
Favouring Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packman, the Duchess has built up a reputation for her polished, sophisticated look. But it isn’t all designer labels for Kate, she has mixed pieces from the high street into her look as well from brands such as Reiss and Zara.
The price of being a global fashion icon will be revealed as part of Prince Charles’ official expenditure, which are set to be made public.
Despite her father-in-law footing the bill, Kate hasn’t gone overboard with her spending and even re-wears pieces on several occasions.
So what were some of the Duchess\'s big purchases? Celebrating the Queen\'s Diamond Jubilee in style, Kate, 30, donned a pleated red Alexander McQueen dress and a long-sleeved nude lace McQueen sheath, which were reportedly about $1,850 each. Then there was her unexpectedly sexy emerald Jenny Packham gown she dazzled in at London\'s Royal Albert Hall in May, which reportedly set Prince Charles back about $3,200.
